Blender

Blender is a tool that is used to make and animate 3D objects either for a game or just for fun! I personally have mix feeling toward this application because it is fin but it has a lot of hot keys and info you need to memorize before you can do anything useful with it. This is not an application for the lazy and or weak minded (no offence). However I have been very surprised at what can be done with it! Over all I have come to the conclusion of liking it.

ROTC

The ROTC is a military leadership training program open to students. I would not want to participate in this program because it forces kids to preform at a level that maybe they are not ready for and does not focus on academics that could actually help them in life. however i do see the good in this program for the students who are ready and looking into a career in the military. these good's are that it teaches respect (which kids now a days need to learn) and help those who are looking into the military to get a taste of what they are getting into.Me personally i would not like this program for 2 reasons, first i am not looking into doing anything for the military, and second has too parts, first  i am lazy and could not perform up to par and second i do not like being told what to do, i am more of a free form student meaning i will get the work done but at my own pace.

DGBL

Today's youth is so consumed in their own digital world that they don't always get the necessary education they need to succeed in life. This new way of learning will force kids to not only learn but to be fully engaged and want to learn! This will help kids combine their gaming skills along with their knowledge of the actual subject at hand. Although this is not a fool proof system where kids can find ways around the actual learning of it and focus on the game but that is to be expected when you place a graphic game in front of a kid! Another  problem that teachers and others could face is that kids could think as this time to use these games as tool as a time to just talk with their friends and or "hang out" also there is not confirmation that the kids are actually doing the work so they could just be sitting there and fooling around!

The matrix

I recently saw the movie The Matrix for the 100th time and it sparked a new thought into my head and that thought was what pill I would take if I was presented with the option. I personally would take the red because I am the type of person who when told that I have been in a lie this entire time.... i don't like it. I would want to know what the real world. I hate not knowing the truth and if i did not take the red pill it would drive me crazy knowing I am in a lie and i need to know!

Maker movement

The maker movement is introducing programming/ building things as a group to a wide variety of age groups. I am going to focus on the maker movement in schools. I believe that it is a good thing because it makes students and kids of all ages to go make something that will make their world and generation better. In an ever growing field of work this a good thing to get kids started early in a field that will forever be needed!

SCHOOL

As of today I am a 10th grader at CM. I went to BLS from 7th to 9th then saw it better for my future to transfer. I have high expectations for myself and where I will go for college and what I will do in life! although I am a 10th grader I still have been looking into colleges that specializes in tech. My top 3 choices at the moment are MIT,WPI and Cal-tech. although hard schools to get in I hope my work will speak for it self and I will make my dream come true! I am worried about the application processe because i do not stand out among all the other candidates, and although i have participated in multiple MIT programs for college prep in the tech field, there are many other people who out rank my sats and extra-curricular activities. I hope my work with get me to where I want to go!

A renaissance man is someone who knows a lot about many things. this term is meant as a compliment, however I look at it as a sweeter way to call someone a dilettante. Calling someone a dilettante is not so flattering and will possibly get you slapped or punched. This is man-kind hiding it's evils and mean saying in a word with a more happy meaning.

Alice

Alice is a program in order to teach beginner "programmers" the fundamentals of programming. it is a drag and drop program that highlights methods and constructors in program. I personally dislike using Alice as a start point in programming because it does not properly teach the mind set of thinking, which i believe is the hardest part, and i personally think the gui is a little hard for a beginner! Navigation of this app is annoying and harder then i would like! It is just a glorified version of scratch!

Programming

I am a programmer, who mainly uses java and c++. I, as a programmer, think it is important to teach others and the next generation about this wonderful art because it is the up and coming world and I personally want to be apart of the making of that future. This skill does not only teach attention to detail but also opens up a whole new way of thinking and looking at things. this field of study is so opened ended that no matter what computer language you study your options pertaining to jobs and or starting your own business is all up to you! This would not only boost the economy with all the new jobs but also the nation as a whole!

Thats not my job

I recently read a poem titled Thats not my job and it focused on an interesting fact that everyone comes across at some point in their life, either it be at work,  at school, or just around the house. This fact is that nobody wants to to a job that anyone can do because it is quick and easy yet nobody does it. This always leads to somebody getting blamed for this task not being completed. This problem can be fix by just doing what needs to be done right away, then it is done, everyone can relax and nobody gets blamed.

Bas-Ket is a game created by Cadaco in 1937. this game consist of 2 players using spring loaded levers in order to shoot the ping pong ball into the opponents hoop. This game was intended for children 5 and up and each game take on average a half hour to play. This action/sports game can be bought  on eBay for 10-25 dollars. They have no known website. BYOT

Today a question arose to my attention and it got me thinking......."should students be allowed to use their personal devices in the classroom". This topic is very interesting because of all of the pro's and cons involved. Allowing this freedom in the classroom could either really help the students or totally destroy the classroom setting. My opinion is that they should not be allowed to use THEIR devices in school, with that said I also believe that the school or state should supply these devices. Now I am aware that not all schools have the funding or the means to acquire these devices, therefor the state should use some of the tax payer's money to get the devices need in the classroom. If a small amount of the money the tax's payers pay went to getting Tables and computers for the class, I believe that with the right restrictions these devices would not just be beneficial to the students but for the environment.
